Megan Gamble is Live!

ree

Launching a book is quite the experience! Here I am, unboxing my first book of author copies last week. I've been carting these copies around with me, selling them to friends and acquaintances. I'm starting to have people say, "Oh! You're the writer. I'm reading your book, and I'm loving it." Part of me wants to turn around and figure out who they're really talking to, but I'm learning to accept it.

What's really fun is realizing that I landed this novel just where I wanted to. I wanted to create a joyful adventure. Megan faces real problems, but this is a tale about Megan beginning to find her own strengths. This is a story about Megan moving outside of her comfort zone and doing things she never dreamed of. And this is a story about Megan learning that she's strong enough and talented enough and worthy enough to deserve happiness and fulfillment.

Happiness. Fulfillment.

That's what I believe. I believe in women finding those two things.

Maybe it's a fantasy. Real life is difficult. But isn't it nice to live in this escapist reality, where things ultimately work out? I firmly believe that real life is better when we approach everything with clear eyes and keen intellects and a firm moral compass, but also with the sense that good things are possible. And I believe that books and TV shows and movies that take us to that space--that space where happily-ever-afters can and do happen--I believe that immersing ourselves in these positive spaces make it easier to endure and push through the mundane irritants and horrible circumstances and absurd moments of our real lives.

Seize hope. Read hope. Live for hope.

Like Megan did.
