Mendocino Music...Festival!

We're getting close to the one-year book birthday for Mendocino Music, which seemed like a great time to share a little personal connection to Mendocino.

This summer, my husband and I were part of the festival chorus at the Mendocino Music Festival. The white tent on the headlands is the performance venue.

Visiting town for a few days was magical. I kept looking around and saying, "Look! This is where Marina heard Ryan play the trumpet with the jazz combo," and "Wow! This is the church where Marina first sang again."

See?

The Mendocino Presbyterian Church was central to Marina's story and a place I had the chance to visit and attend a service during the last weekend in July.

Another fun fact was that our choral rehearsals started in the very hall where Marina led her own choir practices, although the actual space is far larger than the one I envisioned in the book.

I was so excited to be in town that I couldn't stop telling everyone about the novel. Luckily, the bookstore in town, Gallery Bookshop in Mendocino, carries my books for sale. They moved a lot of copies over the few days I was in town.

Here's the proof: Mendocino Music on the shelves at Gallery Bookshop. If you hurry, there may be a few signed copies left for sale!

Stay tuned for news of my next book. I'll keep you all posted!
